Before we get into it, we have to ask ourselves a question, what is time?
A simple basic question, when asked on point-blank, we go blank because we don’t know what it is, we don’t know what to do with it even though we are aware of the fact that it is limited and has no guarantee. We seem to behave recklessly with time.
Time, it’s a passing river, clean and fresh by the minute. One of the common time robbers is our ignorance of this wonderful fact.
As the minute pass by, time is refined, but we are not. We, ‘the significant,’ significantly hang on to the past and waste it, thereby falling behind when the rest of the world gets ahead.
Time, it does not discriminate. Leaders or followers, organized or haphazard, lazy or hardworking, everybody has 24 hours a day. But where does it all go wrong?
We know well where it goes wrong.
Half of it was gone by procrastination. People have good intentions; they wake up with the will to do great but then the so-called enemy, “the self-doubt” visits along with his closest pal, “anxiety,” which then invites his closest friend, “panic,” followed by nausea. All these are processed during the stage of procrastination. It’s a real struggle people put up with.
The symptoms may not appear physically, but mentally they are there. I suggest we don’t take procrastination as a common thing. Deep down the feelings you process, I cannot begin to stress enough on how strong you are. This is a real struggle.
But some people procrastinate because they are over-confident and they got it all. That kind of attitude will give them panic attacks in the end because they don’t get it as they thought they would. However, procrastination is a significant time robber. Everything else comes under it. Knowingly or unknowingly people are enslaved and victimized by it.
The next time robber would probably be, ‘poor planning and scheduling.’
It is said that ‘A reactive lifestyle that doesn’t plan for the future will rob us of valuable time’. We need to look for long term effects than the short term.
A 20-minute work out every day could help a person kill diabetes than to be killed by it in the future. It doesn’t happen in a day. Often, we plan, we fail, and we come to a stage where we do not want to plan anymore. That does more harm than good.
We need to plan accordingly and try to work on them as much as possible from the day we conceive a vision of our lives.
Proper planning and proper discipline can turn an ordinary to extraordinary today. Do not let the robber rob you of your magnificent dream. Why? Because you are called to be magnificent.
