Once again the Modi led government has come to power with peoples legitimacy for the second time. New and old member of parliament will take their oaths again but stop why they swear in the name of God to be loyal to the Indian constitution.
You are right here; I am bringing some light on this swearing on the name of God. All the MPs will take oath in the name of God, after giving their promises to people to fulfil their aspirations.
The government and all MPs are all service providers to the Indian people, then why don’t they swear in the name of the promise given to the people as they have got the legitimacy to represent their constituency through people.
In India, Ram’s birthplace topic is always a question of faith and religion on which many riots were held throughout the nation. As Babri Mosque was built where Lord Ram’s birth took place later this mosque was destroyed.
Ever wondered why Ram is considered as lord because throughout his life he experienced a very unsuccessful life and was calm, patient, and not jealous for that everyone worships him.
That is, after all, humanity as every religion; God tries to teach us kindness, why then MPs don’t take the oath in the name of humanity by replacing God?
Even MPs can take the oath in the name of Indian citizens for loyalty to the constitution as the members of the constituent assembly were indirectly elected but represented all sections of India these members were fundamental to construct, discuss, and debate on the constitution.
In so many decades, many people have died in the name of religion, God and some lower cast people died as they were not allowed to enter the temples to worship God. Fundamentally, if we see this land of India has no God culture, we Indians made up God and dismantled him again.
For example, during Ganpati festivals we bring Ganpati for worship in homes, schools, big public shed then put back again the Ganpatis in immersion and dismantle idols after a month or ten days. This culture is a Godless culture where we believe your life is your karma and your doing. Also, our MPs who are elected to parliament begins their oath in the name of God, is that fair enough through a cultural point of view.
Possibly, MPs should be given an option either to take the oath in the name of God or in the name of anything which genuinely looks cool to identify as a proper thing/name to take an oath.
The father of India’s constitution converted thousands of lower caste people in India to Buddhism as they were not allowed to go to touch God in temples due to their caste and even they were discriminated by religion.
