Real-time radio frequency identification-based attendance solution was designed to proffer solution to time theft and redundancy witnessed by public and private organizations thereby increasing performance index of individuals. Imagine a scenario where employees of some organizations will come to work in the morning and have their names written in black and white, only for them to flee from their place to primary assignment to other jobs or even use paid time of their organizations to attend to personal businesses. Such employees usually wait for the closing time for them to come back and sign-off their names as one who has accomplished their daily routine duties.
This is a challenge well taken care of in the design because of the time stamp. Therefore, organizations that will use this solution must view it as negligence of duty for any employee to leave office without clocking-out. This solution can be used in schools where attendance is a paramount factor in measuring the overall performance of students. It is based on real-time clock, radio frequency identification (RFID), tag/card reader, TFT display screen, tags, micro SD card, SD card reader, piezoelectric sounder, atmega328p microcontroller, 12 volts standby rechargeable battery power supply, green and red status LED to indicate whether a user has clock-in on time or has clock-in late. The maximum allowable time before late clock-in is ’09:05 AM’. Green LED indicates clock-in on time while the red LED indicates that the user is late at work or school.

Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a technology where the radio wave is employed to locate any object tagged if they are in the same frequency range. For this project, our reader and tag are operating with 13.56MHZ. It is based on the physics of electromagnetism.
Tag/card reader is a device that searches for the tag.
TFT display screen is for visual.
Micro SD card is memory storage for tag unique IDs and time.
Piezoelectric sounder is for beeping when a user swipes her or her card. It is most beneficial for those who have a visual impairment.
Atmega328p microcontroller is the computer system on chip (SoC) that is executing the downloaded program.
Please note that this design is a fully functional prototype based on the designer’s conceivable imagination and can be reprogrammed to suit both private and cooperate requirements. A well-packaged product will be out in no distance time.
