Mirror, mirror on the wall
Who’s the fairest of them all?
What was the reply?
Did your mirror say that you are the fairest or
Did your mirror say it was Snow White?
It is ironical that the answer from this cartoon was always Snow White.
However, your mirror’s answer is merely a reflection of your mind and Snow White is only the person you think is better than you are. To prove this, when Snow White was mistaken for dead the mirror told the wicked queen that she was the fairest, but the minute she started suspecting that Snow White was alive, the mirror told her that Snow White was the fairest.
So, if your mirror’s answer was Snow White, then the only difference between you and the wicked queen is that you probably are not wicked, but you both are suffering from inferiority complex.
Without going to the extreme on this, the mirror only reflects what you show it. You already know the answer to the question, even before you ask because your mind is the mirror. So when you stand in front of a mirror, it reflects your mind. The inferior and rejected person you sometimes see in front of your mirror is what you showed the mirror and the confident and beautiful person you see is also what you showed the mirror.
The essence of this idea is to communicate to you that you are who you ‘think’ you are.
The real mirror is in your mind. Your mind produces the image; your eye focuses on the image and the mirror reflects that same image. When you see yourself as an achiever, the mirror shows you an achiever. When you see yourself as a loser in your mind, the mirror reflects the image of a loser. The problem is not with the mirror. The problem is with your mind.
Do not make the mistake of thinking that Snow White is better than you. She is not! If you think she is better, then she is.
Permit me to stretch this a bit to some names you have been called?
Sometimes people tag us with names because of something we did. Guess what, your identity is yours to create! You are a thief if you think you are a thief and you are a liar if you believe that you are a liar.
In conclusion, Snow White is only fairer than you if you think she is.
This writes up aims at reaching someone who has lost confidence in his or herself.
Feel free to let me know what you agree or disagree with in the comments section. Cheers
P.S: Fair in this context means ‘better or beautiful’ and has nothing to do with skin colour /race.
