A metropolitan city has its air filled with doses of different words like Routine, Health, Competition, Time, Busy, Socialize, Family and most importantly-Stress.
Stress has become unwanted baggage in our lifestyles. Be it from your boss, or your “other half” or your friends, or even from your family, trying to ward it off is a hard job. But as the saying goes, “Better late than never,” you can always start working on it at this very moment.
Family is a part of us, and we are a part of them. Spending time with those who know you and have seen you grow up to be who you are today, the love they pour out, their comforting embraces, small talks, smiling and laughing out loud, having dinner with them, these are the blissful ways of discarding that heavy feeling from your chest. This is one of the many ways where you get to go to bed feeling light and happy!
Friends..! Or F.R.I.E.N.D.S..! They are family. Be they real or virtual, time spent with them may be seen as an investment. Similar to growing a garden in your backyard, “you reap what you sow.” Giving your time to friends, reminiscing those beautiful days of college, those small yet priceless moments of life, discussing your crush, your teachers and the nicknames you gave them, every moment spent with them is worth a thousand years. Hence, it is another gateway for de-stressing and reminding yourself that there are people out there who care for you and are always there for you.
Food-loving people have a major advantage. Now, we know that they love food. So a basket of fruits for a healthy one or a tub of ice-cream for a “not so healthy one,” loads of chocolates or cooking up your favorite mac & cheese serves as a meaningful reminder to tell you that life is worth more than just that unwanted baggage you carry in your heart.
While some prefer cooking, certain others prefer to be the heroes of their own story in their own way. The innovative ones who work their way across their stress by letting it flow on a canvas in the form of colours, or the imaginative dreamers who drown themselves in an ocean of words, or even for those who create these oceans, every hero has his or her own way of dealing through this unavoidable trauma!
Hence, life isn’t all about being clouded up in the head or bearing heaviness in your heart..! There is more to life than what meets the needs. So don’t just live for the sake of living. Do it not because you are told to, not because others do it too, instead, do it for yourself. Do it to live your dreams (even if the stakes are high), laugh, love and embrace YOURSELF for the journey you had made it through and for the journey you still have left. You have a long way to go mate..! Let that heart of yours feel freedom.
