Education system and jobs

We all understand the importance of education in development, socially as well as economically. In most African countries, education is the key to life; we believe you cannot succeed in life without a better education. Moreover, you go to school to get a good job.

The system of education in most African countries does not prepare a student for a job; most of the subjects are not relevant to the jobs available. The development, technology and innovation are going faster than the system of education we are getting. This is a challenge to most African countries and leads to unemployment, dependence level increases as well as poverty.

We are studying lots of subjects and a half-decade in school and university (first degree) to get an education which is not helping us rather than destroying us. My suggestions to the world and my community are to change the educational system for sustainable development. We can change the system by applying digital technology in our educational system. This new world is the world of the digital economy; we need to start applying technology and innovations in our systems.

Also, the introduction of more vocational training centres will speed up the systems, technology as well as passion. Some people are losing their passion and lots of time to study subjects they don’t like rather than their passion, therefore, introduction of more vocational training will solve this issue. Opening of more tech lab will speed up our education system. Encouragement of more exchange programme between countries, through this we get more exposure to our educational system.

Creative jobs are among the goal of sustainable development, we cannot achieve it with improper educational system, and we need to change it. Development needs people to work with involvement of technology and innovation.
