The China-Africa relationship is expected to flourish to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership due to the upcoming initiatives which include an expo to be held later in the year in China, where African countries are expected to participate. This cooperation is based on five pillars that are mainly related to political, economic and cultural interests shared between China and Africa.

The expo aims to uphold the open policy as a fundamental national policy which will enable China to work together with the international community to develop its economy.

The China international import expo will cater for high-end intelligent equipment, automobile, consumer appliances and electronics, apparel, food and agriculture, tourism, culture, and education as well as creative design among others. China will pursue a global governance system that is based on consultation and discussion, cooperation and collaboration, and mutual ownership. All countries big or small, strong or weak, rich or poor shall be equal.

The expo will also provide greater opportunity for other countries to benefit from China’s continuous development. China’s foreign policy has two key elements being to build a community with a shared future for mankind (CSFM) and to construct a new form of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness, justice, and win-win cooperation.

The necessity for building CSFM and a new form of international relations is that the trend of multi-polarity, economic globalization, IT applications, and cultural diversity is surging forward. Global governance and international order are transforming while interdependence is deepening. No single country can address the above challenges alone.”

The core contents of CSFM include lasting peace, universal security, shared prosperity, inclusiveness of cultures and civilizations, clean and beautiful environment while significant characteristics of the new form of international relations include mutual respects among countries, win-win cooperation and fairness, and justice.
