Life is not as lenient as making all men equal; it went ahead at making them of different sizes, shapes and positioning. Henceforth, one’s ability to understand one’s placing in every social or contractual relationship such a one enters into with others goes a long way to determine such a one’s level of success and performance in it.
In every social relationship, there is always an avenue for a boss and an employee, a manager and the managed, a priest and its congregation, and a doctor and his patient. This social stratification has over the years been forced on man to accept it as a natural order of things and by cause of action, its occurrence. Whether it’s true or not is beyond the very jurisdiction of this very article.
One thing is sure, man’s attempt through several socialist theories and practices like the Marxist socialist thought over history, to bridge such gully can be argued to have generally collapsed. With this in mind, it is then wise for the intelligent to find a way of making its bed in such a way that it could surf along with this social storm with little or no threat to drowning instead of lazily wishing this reality away.
Sooner or later, every one of us must enter into such social/business contracts (if we are not already into one). Your level of success and ability to last in such a contract depends on how smart enough you are with identifying your place, which comes with its responsibilities in such a contract.
Before one finds oneself in any of such contracts/relationships, do well to understand to which of the above cadre the relationship places you in. One’s ability to do this would do many and these two things for one:
1. Help you readjust your psyche and behaviour to conform to the demands of such placing.
2. Avail you the opportunity to improve better in whatever you do.
The breakdown, loss of jobs or contracts recorded most often in social or business contracts has mostly been a result of the partner’s inability to understand their placing in such relationship and the subsequent responsibility it leaves on them.
The expectations and responsibilities of a boss is entirely different from those of an employee. A problem is bound to manifest once this law is not observed and obeyed, whether by the boss or the led. It brings about chaos, suspicion and lack of trust in such contractual relationships. Boundaries are crossed without knowledge; dreams are cut short, inefficiency pervades hatred and eventual breakdown of such contract eventually steps-in.
Before you say that YES, sign that DOCUMENT, ACCEPT that offer, understand first where it places you and the responsibilities that come with such placing. Then and then would you rightly decide how right it is for you, if you must last long in it and progress.
